Living my life with a visible disability means people stare at me wherever I go. It started when I wore leg braces as a kid and continues now as I use my wheelchair. Because of all those eyes on me, I used to try to make myself small, to hide a little. And then one day, it just kind of hit me.
People are going to stare no matter what.
I can’t hide away my disability. So I am going to wear what I want, do my makeup as I like, embrace my big curly hair, and stop giving a f*ck about what strangers think.
